10 Video Games That Would Make Great Board Games

While there have been a couple good video game to board game adaptions (Gears of War, Starcraft, ect…), there is still a lot of games left that would make for some great board games. I’ve assembled a list of the top 10 I would like to see.

10: Half Life

HalfLife

Half Life is¬†recognized as being a¬† revolutionary first-person shooter. The use of in game scripted sequences made this game stand out among other shooters and ended up netting it some 50 PC game of the year awards. That alone get’s it on the list.

Here is how I would do it: 1-4 player game. You and your friends play a group of scientist that are frantically trying to escape the Black Mess Research Facility. With the aliens on one side and the Marine Corp on the other, players must gather the needed items before being able to make their escape from the facility. Players can choose to work together or adapt an “every man for himself” mentality. Throw in a deck of event cards and a special deck of “G-Man” cards (that give players unique advantages) and you’ve got yourself a great game.

I like your list. Especially Zelda, lots of possibilities there. This made me think of some of my favorite old-school games and how they could translate to tabletop. Hmm.. Maniac Mansion! Hehe..

Ha, Maniac Mansion is pretty old school… I could see playing that as a table top game.
